Email me on firstname.lastname@example.org or phone me (Joy Scholes) on 01462 700220. You do not have to discuss the specifics of your particular problem at this point, although it can be helpful to give me a general indication, so we can think about whether I am the right person to help you.
Appointments take place in my consulting room near Biggleswade, Beds. There is easy access from the A1 and easy parking on site. There is one small step up to access the room.
Sessions last 50 minutes. It is easier if you have some time free during the day, as I have limited evening sessions. Private sessions are usually Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon.
Prior to your first session you will receive some information and a short optional questionnaire to fill in and bring with you. Most people find it helpful to complete as it helps them think about the actual problem or issue they want to discuss.
I will outline the rules on confidentiality and will probably ask you more questions in order to get some clear background. You will have the opportunity to talk about what you would like to change using CBT and to experience what it might feels like to work with a therapist.
At the end of the session, you can decide if it feels right to continue. We'll agree the initial number of sessions involved and some dates and times for your future sessions.
"I would recommend anyone who has a need for counselling to try CBT ... it works and more importantly it worked for me when all other avenues had failed."
