About Joy Scholes
I am an accredited CBT psychotherapist and I have been practising Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for over 12 years in the NHS and as a private therapist.
I founded Greenacre CBT specifically to provide CBT to individuals struggling to cope with aspects of their life and needing to help restore balance and making positive changes towards improving their mental health and wellbeing.
I worked with local GP’s in Bedfordshire and in the NHS Wellbeing Programme (IAPT) providing CBT in the NHS, until taking early retirement. I now focus on my private work and clinical supervision of CBT therapists and those in professions using CBT skills in their roles.
I am also a clinical supervisor on the P/G Diploma in CBT at the University of Hertfordshire, helping the next generation of therapists in delivering CBT.
My approach to patients is one of trust and understanding. CBT is a holistic and practical approach and will support you in understanding your emotions and behaviours.
As your therapist I will work with you on setting realistic and measurable goals, and help you develop a resilient and positive mindset towards the challenges you face in life.
All my therapy work is clinically supervised in accordance with the BABCP Code of Conduct.
